Help Bryan Walters with Medical Costs

I'm Vicki Kolbe. My youngest brother, Bryan Walters, is in a very serious health crisis and has now lost his income due to disability. He needs financial support to help cover rising medical costs associated with long-term care and I have created this GoFundMe account in an effort to help him in some tangible way.

Bryan became an insulin-dependent diabetic at age 9, which began a life-long struggle with the devastating effects of the disease. The survivor of two transplant surgeries and multiple other health-related procedures and treatments, he has recently had to undergo two amputations and is now wheel-chair bound. He is presently in a post traumatic rehabilitation center, receiving IV antibiotics, physical therapy and occupational therapy to help him begin to adjust to a new way of life.

Bryan is one of the smartest, strongest, most resilient human beings I know. He’s also a fantastic father to his son, Cole, who just graduated high school. This latest crisis has left Bryan unable to continue his job as an attorney with Kern County in California, and due to the logistics of staying in a recovery and rehabilitation facility, he has had great difficulty in making progress with applying for disability benefits.

At this point, he has no income and his savings is dwindling. He has multiple doctor appointments weekly, and even the cost of transportation to and from these appointments is becoming a growing burden. Each trip costs $90.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help Bryan through this most challenging time in his life while he continues to work toward putting the necessary pieces in place that will make life more manageable moving forward. Any financial help you feel inspired to donate would be very greatly appreciated.
