Help Bryn with expenses as she battles cancer.

Hi! I'm Karen McKenzie and I'm fundraising to help my wonderful friend Bryn manage expenses while she battles Cancer.

On August 21st, Bryn will begin her fight with newly diagnosed colo-rectal cancer. She will have surgery, spend a minimum of 7 days in the hospital and then begin an 8 week recovery process, with the possibility of additional treatment being addressed at that time.

Bryn, who is legally deaf, has been the sole support for her two children and elderly mother for the past almost 15 years. She is only able to work part-time and doesn't receive disability benefits through her emoloyer. She has struggled to make ends meet while at the same time championing and assisting those less fortunate than her.

As a person with a disability Bryn has struggled financially since her husband left the country when their children were small. She is a true single mother. Her ex-husband only sent support for a few months, he is currently in arrears of just under $500,000. She has persevered to ensure her children have the basics but has always maintained her positive attitude.

Bryn is so wonderful and giving, always with a smile. I would love for her not to have to worry about paying her bills during her battle with cancer.
