Help Bua Bann live her life as a free elephant

Hi, my name is Caroline and earlier this year I had the privilege of spending time with a majestic elephant called Bua Bann. Having spent all her life working in the tourist industry, and being chained to one spot throughout the pandemic, Bua Bann is now living her best life at Happy Elephant Home in the north of Thailand.

However, Bua Bann is not totally free yet! I am setting up this Gofundme for the sole purpose of providing a permanent home for Bua Bann as her owner is now willing to sell her to Happy Elephant Home.

HEH is a true elephant sanctuary – no riding or performing, where the elephants live out their lives being well cared for and free to just be elephants. I am so lucky to have witnessed the wonderful work they do at HEH. Those that know me well will know that my daughter Katie is making her home at HEH so I will be visiting it regularly.

Bua Bann has a wonderfully cheeky character and is often found trying to see what is going on in the office. She was very skinny and malnourished when she first came to HEH but is now thriving and gaining weight. She keeps her mahout busy as she likes to wander off mostly on the hunt for her favourite bananas.

As Thailand is not supported by Gofundme I will be collecting the funds but then sending 100% of the money raised directly to Happy Elephant Home.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE spread the word by sharing this with as many friends and contacts as possible. We need to raise £26,000 to buy her outright but in the meantime £500 will cover the monthly cost of keeping Bua Bann at HEH. Every little (or big bit) helps! TIA
