Help Bubacar Jaiteh's Family in The Gambia

Hello, my name is Sunny Michael Chornomaz, I live in the Pacific Northwest in the United States. I am raising money for my friend Bubacar Jaiteh, and his family who live in The Gambia, in West Africa. They are currently suffering from a severe lack of food for their family and are in the midst of a dangerous rainy season that occurs in August and September. A small donation can help Bubacar and his family afford to buy rice and some other basic ingredients so they can eat. Inflation has hit their economy hard and the cost of food keeps rising.

Bubacar has been my friend for since June and we have spoken on the phone and video chat for many hours. He is a kind, beautiful young man who enjoys playing soccer and painting. He is 17 years old, and is the first in his family to attend school. He lives in the village of Busumbala. He speaks a handful of languages including English. We initially met through a mutual Instagram friend (resistance_is_beautiful).

When I first offered to mail him seeds for growing food, I realized he had never received mail before and still does not know if it is even possible. Being able to receive packages like we do in the States is not a luxury he has known. After we spent some time chatting on the phone and getting to know each other, I learned of Bubacar's food insecurity. I had enough money to offer sending something to him, so that they could afford to buy a bag of rice. Since my friend is not yet 18, I sent the money to his father, who was able to receive it through Western Union. They decided, unasked, to show a huge degree of transparency, giving me photos of the cash in hand and the bag of rice once they purchased it. He's even shown me his report card from school. These are honest people who are just trying to feed their family in a very difficult situation.

I am reaching out to everyone I know in the hopes that y'all can give 1, 5, or 20 dollars to help out my friend and his family. Please give something if you can.
