Help Buddy, Our Beloved School Dog!

At Cranmer Primary School, Buddy, our therapy school dog, holds a special place in our hearts. Loved by children, staff, parents and visitors, his gentle and playful nature has been a source of comfort and joy for everyone in our school community.

Buddy joined our school in the spring of 2019 aged just 8 weeks. Now, a month away from his 6th birthday, Buddy has unfortunately suffered a Cranial Cruciate Ligament rupture in his right back leg and required intense surgery to repair it. His operation was carried out on Wednesday , December 4th, 2024, by The Pet Vet on London Road, Morden. Thankfully, the surgery went well, but Buddy faces a long recovery of up to 12 weeks with lots of rest and care before he can return to school.

The cost of Buddy’s operation is approximately £5,000, and the total expenses could rise even further, unfortunately this treatment was not covered by Buddy's pet insurance. We’re reaching out to our supportive school community to help raise funds for Buddy’s veterinary and medical fees. Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference and is deeply appreciated.
