Help Build A Community of Readers

Tax deductible
One Book One Bronx is committed to building a community of readers in The BX. By donating today, you can help us expand this vibrant program.

Since 2014, we've hosted free weekly conversations on a diverse selection of over 60 BIPOC-centered titles and given away over 2,000 free books throughout marginalized communities in the Bronx. One Book One Bronx has also presented live conversations with numerous published writers, including Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Tyehimba Jess, Ernesto Quinonez, Aaliyah Bilal, and Angie Cruz. This year, in honor of James Baldwin's centenary, we're presenting a series of literary programs that amplify Baldwin's lasting impact and giving away over 200 of his books.

To avoid the year-end appeal rush that overwhelms many small nonprofits, we ask that you make a tax-deductible donation now so that we can continue our mission—$10 can buy a new paperback, $25 can help pay program facilitators, $100 will go toward starting new book clubs. Any amount will make a difference.

The Literary Freedom Project, a 501c3 nonprofit, values the diverse cultures in the Bronx and gives residents places to build community and explore social engagement through books. Programs include One Book One Bronx, our literary magazine, Mosaic, and the Mosaic Literary Conference.

Please take a moment, click the donate button, and support an organization fully committed to making a difference in its community.

Thank you

Award-winning writer Aaliyah Bilal, Temple Folk, was among the numerous writers we've hosted for live conversations --connecting writers to our community. Past guests have included Esmerelda Santiago, Mikki Kendall, and Nicole Dennis-Benn.

The Mosaic Literary Conference and the latest issue of our literary publication Mosaic #43. The annual focused on Black queer writers and featured interviews, poetry, essays, photography, and more.
