Help build a dorm for students in Kenya

Hi, my name is Albert Kisangi, and I am raising funds to help build a dorm for students at Busali Union High School (my former high school) in Kenya. I kindly need your help. As you will see from the pictures, the current dorm is dilapidated and crowded making students' stay unbearable. This is the school, as humble as it is, that gave me a chance to be who I am today. Never in my wildest imagination, did I ever think there will be a connection between this school in the poor rural areas of Kenya and the United States. The struggles of learning in such a challenging environment are a story for another day, but for now my desire is to pay forward - give a child in this school an opportunity to succeed.

Why a dormitory, you may ask? In Kenya generally and in the poor rural areas in particular, a school with a dorm ensures that a child has access to electricity to study at night, access to clean and reliable water, can receive at least 2 meals per day, and has time to focus on learning instead of wasting time walking to school while exposed to all elements of weather. I know this too well because, at one point while in elementary school, I walked 9 miles per day to school and back. In a nutshell, providing a boarding facility is one of the factors that help alleviate the opportunity gap. Every donation you give, however small will move us closer to the goal.
