Help us build a house for a teacher in Vanuatu

 Tassiriki School is a  primary school (grades 1-6) on Moso Island in Vanuatu, which is a nation in the South Pacific encompassing 80 small islands. 

About 100 students attend the school, and they desperately need an additional teacher. 

Education funding in Vanuatu is a little different.  The community must provide a house for a teacher before one can be sent.  

Help us build this house so we can get another teacher.  The typical house is two rooms (bedroom and living area), 3-400 square feet with a separate outdoor toilet.  It is constructed of cement blocks hand made by the local residents  
Construction costs are estimated to be approximately $15,000.  Labor will be provided by the Island residents.

Education in Vanuatu is vitally important for their society and their children.  The families on Moso Island are committed to the school, the education of their children and having an additional teacher.

Louise and I visited Vanuatu this winter and met many of the Island families and children. Education is highly valued in this developing nation.  Another teacher will significantly   improve their education program. The future rests with these wonderful children.
