Gunjur Buckingham Mosque Fundraising Appeal
Donation protected
The community of Buckingham, a thriving area in the coastal town of Gunjur, in the Kombo South District, West Coast Region of The Gambia, is embarking on a new mosque project. However, they are very much in need of funds. They would like to sincerely request help and support towards the realisation of this noble project, so we can all obtain the pleasure of Allah, improve the community and bring all Muslims under one roof.
This is going to improve the understanding of Islam within both the community and the wider population. Their aim is to offer opportunities to learn about Islam and become a point of contact for all people wanting to know more about our religion. They also aim to make this mosque a community centre and a focal point for young people and women, where they can learn The Holy Qu’ran, Hadith and general Islamic Education.
It’s heartening to learn that the community has been successful in securing the place (plot of land) and has already started building the mosque. They were able to raise some money that allowed them to buy a piece of land for the new mosque and centre to be erected on. The proposed mosque and centre will have all the required facilities, such as praying areas for both men and women, separate wudu area and toilet facilities for both genders, madrasah for boys and girls, da’wah work and education classes and a library for the growing muslim population. The whole project is estimated to cost approximately £165, 000.
In order to realise this vision of a new mosque and a community centre, the Buckingham community are humbly asking for your help and support in achieving their goal of building a bigger and better ummah for the whole of Gambia and its surroundings.
The Prophet (SAW) said: “Whoever helps to build a mosque, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”
May Allah accept all our efforts, Allahuma Ameen.
