Help Build a New Office for Samburu Team Kenya

Hello friends, family, donors, and well-wishers!

We are holding this fundraiser to raise money to build our own office building in Samburu, Kenya. Since our founding in 2012, we have been renting a very small, dark, dusty space. The office is connected to several housing units where the residents’ conversations and babies crying are clearly heard throughout the workday. We are at the point where we have outgrown the space, both mentally and physically. We now have 6 full-time employees and several volunteers. There are only 3 rooms - Director's office, a small office right at the front entrance, and a storage room which is being used as an office too. It is very crowded and only has 2 windows. We don't have a conference room in which to meet with visitors, donors, and partner organizations. In addition, there is no indoor plumbing.

We have discussed constructing our own office building for several years. The time has come. The land on which it will be built was gifted to our organization. We will no longer have to pay rent. We will have 3 offices - one for the Director and two large ones divided by panels for the 6 staff members, a conference room with a long table and 8 chairs, an indoor restroom, storage room, and small kitchen with coffee/tea station and small refrigerator. What a dream come true this will be for our hardworking and dedicated staff!

The full cost of construction is US $45,400. The cost of building a solid perimeter fence is an additional $5,000. The office building will resemble the one pictured - a simple design, well-constructed, secure, and a space where our staff will enjoy working. Please make a tax deductible donation.
