Help Build a Prayer Wheel for Ladakh Village of Bodhkharbu
Donation protected
We, the ten neighboring communities in the Ladakh (in the Himalayan region of India) village of Bodhkharbu, aim to create a sacred space featuring a large, traditional Buddhist prayer wheel, placed in a enclosed structure. This prayer wheel will allow everyone to circumambulate and accumulate merit (even in poor weather), fostering spiritual growth, preserving cultural practices, and uniting devotees both near and far.
Currently, there is no prayer wheel in our area, and devotees must travel long distances to circumambulate. We have decided to place a prayer wheel closer to our neighborhood, making it easier for senior members and all community members to walk, purify negative karma, and receive blessings.
A kind neighbor has donated land for the prayer wheel, significantly reducing land costs. We have also collected some funds from the ten neighboring communities and have completed the construction of the surrounding wall
Remaining Costs: the estimated remaining costs for construction materials 10’x10’ enclosure, Prayer Wheel and mantras, carvings, artwork, and painting is $10,000 USD
