Help Build a School in Kwaekesseem
Donation protected
Jenessa Pettit opened Mighty Mugs Coffee in 2010. During the same time frame she also started her prerequisites for a nursing degree. Fast forward to the present and she is in her final year of nursing and has chosen Pediatric Nursing as her passion and hopeful specialty.
She has been given the opportunity to travel to a rural village called Kwaekesseem in Ghana, Africa by her program at Bellevue College in June 2018. There she will be able to work and learn in the medical center and in the village children's home.
It has come to attention that the village children currently walk 2.5 miles on a busy road to access the closest school. This has created a safety issue and has led to pediatric fatalities. Jenessa and the Mighty Mugs crew would like to remedy this problem by helping build a school house within the community. The school will serve 40-50 children and will also give access to children living in smaller jungle villages nearby that previously didn’t have access to education. All funds must be collected by May 6th.
All proceeds from this GoFundMe will go directly to this cause. The total cost of the project will be $2000. The money will be taken directly in June to buy materials and all work will be overseen by the Bellevue College student nurses and advisor at that time.
Thank you so much for supporting Jenessa and Mighty Mugs in achieving their goal to promote pediatric safety and education on a global level. We are so inspired by the support of our friends, family and community.
