Help Build Bike Park Improvements at Gamehaven Park
Donation protected
The Rochester Active Sports Club, a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, wants to bring more mountain bike experiences and amenities to Gamehaven Park in Rochester, MN!
The Rochester Active Sports Club (RASC) is in the process of designing and building bike park amenities at Gamehaven Park. This will include a pump track, jump lines, and skills area.
Your contributions will help RASC develop bike park amenities to further our youth development programing, increase recreational opportunities for the residents, and help mountain bikers, BMX riders, etc. learn to hone and progress their skills in a safe and sanctioned setting.
How contributions will be used:
1. Professional Design of Jump Lines and Pump Track
2. Purchasing materials to build skills area
3. Matching funds for various grants to cover costs of construction of Pump Track and Jump Lines by a professional trail building firm.
The goal amount is fluid and any change to goal will be communicated clearly with all donors via email and/or GoFundMe communication. Any donations over the goal amount will be used directly towards the project!
For more details about the project please see below!
1) Pump Track
A pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns, and features designed to be ridden by riders "pumping" -- generating momentum by up and down body movements, instead of pedaling or pushing.
Pump tracks are great for skills development. The repetitive practice of going round and round, getting faster and more capable, builds confidence on the bike. Pump tracks are a fun and creative way to get kids outside and exercising.
We plan on raising funds for a professionally built paved pump track that can be enjoyed by mountain bikes, BMX bikes, skateboards, scooters, and adaptive wheeled devices so all kids and adults can truly enjoy it!
Example: Perkins Hill Pump Track in Minneapolis

Here is a rendering of a pumptrack plan for the park:

2) Progressive Jump Line
Jump lines are area with purpose built jumps for riders to safely learn to jump. We plan on constructing multiple lines of jumps ranging from small beginner table tops, intermediate table tops, up to larger advanced gap jumps.
We are raising funds to be able to have prefabricated take off ramps onto dirt tabletops and landings to allow riders to have a consistent feel every time they ride so they can truly learn how to jump safely and progress through the multiple lines.
Example: Freshly constructed and prior to any seeding of native vegetation on side of dirt jumps

Below is a very very rough rendering we made (not pros on sketchup by any means) of what we are hoping to see at Gamehaven. This is just an example and not a finalized design!

3) Bike Skills Park
A bike skills park is an area with a series of trail features that are designed to help riders improve their skills. These include features such as rollers, drops, rock gardens, A-frames, skinnies, and etc.
Features can range from small to large to cater to riders of all levels and allow progression.
Example: Carver Lake Preserve in Woodbury, MN

Example: Lebanon Hill Skills Line in Eagan, MN
