Help Build Marvin Gray's Memorial at Bosse Field
Donation protected
The Evansville Flag Group seeks to honor Evansville native and Frontier League Flag Chairman Marvin Gray with the construction of a permanent memorial on the grounds of Bosse Field.
Marvin was the ultimate Evansville sports fan for many decades from the Triplets to the Otters and from high school to the pros. The stories from those whose games he attended are too many to count.
Shortly after his passing, Gordon Engelhardt, a columnist with the Evansville Courier & Press, called for Marvin to be honored and remembered. https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/2016/08/22/lets-honor-marvin-gray/88969292/
Nearly a decade later, it's time to do just that. Inside Bosse Field, the seat Marvin sat in is memorialized with his name. The Evansville Flag Group, working with the Evansville Otters, seeks to compliment this seat with a permanent memorial outside of the ballpark.
On June 14th, 2025 (Flag Day), the Otters will play in Evansville city flag inspired jerseys as a tribute to Marvin and also as the start of raising funds for the construction of a memorial for Marvin.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. The amount of funds raised will determine the size and scope of the memorial.
