Help build Rock Creek Baseball Field and Community
Donation protected
We are the Rock Creek Diamond Club. We are a group of parents in the USD 323, Rock Creek School District who have come together to raise money to build a new baseball field for the Rock Creek High School baseball team and students.
We began this process because the school campus is centrally located for the two communities that comprise the Rock Creek school district. However, the original baseball field was located approximately 8 miles away from the school campus.
As concerned parents we wanted to reduce the amount of distance our high school students were required to travel to the field. What is important about the travel situation is that the students were traveling on a narrow, rural county road with no shoulders and fairly heavy traffic. We wanted to alleviate some of the safety concerns by reducing travel, especially during heavier traffic times.
We also determined that building the new baseball field would create a learning environment for the overall student body at Rock Creek. The field has been used for other sports to practice on, specifically the football team, and various classes have been able to use the field for projects and activities during the school day when the weather permits them to be outside.
The field was also constructed to create a more competitive playing surface for our high school baseball team. Previously, the field that was being used was adequate. However, as the team became more competitive, the previous field no longer met the minimal requirements to compete at the higher level. The infield did not have the typical grass surface, and the surface that was present played like concrete and felt much the same. The outfield was uneven with hidden obstacles and holes. With teams that had recently won regional and state championships, and compete for the league title year in and year out, we knew it was time for improved facilities. We went with an all turf playing surface in order to conserve rural water that is very limited at the high school, especially for athletic playing surfaces.
We began the building process in January of 2020. We have been fortunate to have sponsors and donors help us get this project off the ground and to completion. A bank note was secured to pay for the project. That loan is coming due and we still need more funds to pay the note.
It was through the planning of a few, the hard work of many and the generous donations that we have been able to provide a field that will enrich the lives of students and help to grow a community of young leaders.
We greatly appreciate any donation that you are willing to make! We have been approved for IRC Section 501(c)(3) exempt status. Donations are tax deductible! RCDC's EIN is 83-3083784.
Building this field for the kids filled our hearts with happiness. We hope that your heart is also filled with happiness knowing that your donation will improve the lives of so many for many years to come. Thank you kindly from the bottom of our hearts!
