Join MINNEAPOLIS COMMUNITY CLAY COURTS.
Help build the first public clay courts in Minnesota.
We’re a group of tennis people
gathering like-minded enthusiasts for a rare opportunity.
The Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board
has agreed to help us build two clay courts
where decaying hard courts currently sit.
Together we’ll create a jewel of the MPRB park system:
the state’s only public clay tennis courts.
Minneapolis Community Clay Courts mission is to make clay court tennis accessible to everyone by transforming public park tennis courts that are currently in disrepair into low impact playing surfaces that people of all ages can enjoy. Volunteers from the community will gather each Spring to open the courts and each Fall to close them. During the playing season, community members will sign up for court monitoring to make sure that the court stays in pristine condition. With our stewardship, these courts will never degrade making them the eco-friendly choice for court surface refurbishing.
