Help Build The "Discovery Channel" of Parenting

We all know the saying it takes a village to raise a child. However, parents need that village too. The other thing we notice is there's no Discovery Channel or History Channel for parents. So, let's make the Discovery Channel for parents. Our first step is figuring out our voice.

Our voice is like that of an uncle or an aunt whom you love and trust—someone who won’t judge you. They share everything: their highlights, failures, and even embarrassing moments. They do this because they love you and want the best for you.

We all know the saying, “it takes a village to raise a child.” However, parents need that village too. This idea has been on my mind a lot lately, and it reminds me of a conversation I had with my mom a couple of weeks ago. She mentioned that she wished more people would visit nursing homes because you hear that end-of-life wisdom where everyone just ends up saying, “I just want to feel loved, I just want to feel connected with my friends and family.” I told her, that’s how we were created. If we still lived in villages, I could hop out of my hut, walk a few feet, and see my grandparents, elders, family, and friends. When I go through a new life experience, I could sit by the fire with them, and they would pour out their hearts, sharing real-life experiences and examples that I could implement the next day.

So, what’s the point of all this? Why are we asking for donations? We’ve been doing this all as volunteer work. The company has been alive thanks to our dedication and out-of-pocket funding. We are slowly growing a team and have managed to grow our newsletter to 6,300 subscribers. We’ve had over 150 parenting coaches write content for free. We’ve achieved a lot, but we need help to keep going a bit longer until we can fund ourselves through our upcoming conference.

We have a main team of volunteers, which is currently ten people. We need to be able to bring them on for three months, which will cover rent and other business expenses, as well as provide everyone with a fair wage. We’d love to bring them all on full-time so we can dedicate the proper amount of time to making the Discovery Channel of parenting a reality.
