Dear Chicáno Nuevo Regulars, Fans, Family, and soon to be neighbors,

We’re Abraham and Courtney of Chicáno Nuevo, a couple with a dream to open a vibrant new restaurant in Bernal Heights, San Francisco. After 9 years of pop-ups successfully operating in Bernal, Mission, and the Excelsior (operating 7 days a week inside the Broken Record), we’re reaching out to you, our community, to help us bring this dream of bringing our brick and mortar to fruition. We know most have followed our journey, we have successfully pitched investors and are so fortunate to receive city grants. Keeping out budget low give us a chance to survive in a very volatile industry. We know what we do best and we love being creative and sharing Abraham’s story through food. We are so excited to share more and more means we are still fundraising. Our goal is to be open before the end of the year. 

Our Journey So Far

We’ve completed over 70% of the build-out. This includes major upgrades like ADA-compliant bathrooms (we had to extend the foundation, $$$$$), a brand-new 10” Type 1 Hood (this allows us to cook everything and anything $$$$$), and a complete plumbing overhaul ($$$).

Where We Stand

We need to raise more money to finish the electrical and beautify this space. We are not afraid of a DIY approach but we really hope to have the proper equipment to execute our very adventurous creative menu including a lot of our hit staples, FISH TACOS, CONSOMMÉ, AND CARNE ASADA!!!

What We Aim to Create

Your support will help us build more than just a restaurant. We envision a welcoming space where:

Families can make weekly dinner reservations and enjoy quality time together.

Kids and parents can stop by after school for a quick and tasty bite.

Friends and loved ones can celebrate engagements, Birthdays, and every kind of special occasion one can think of.

We miss late night dining, remember making the last minute decision to go out and grab a bite at 11pm because your best friend is visiting out of town and you want to show the vibrancy of the city. We want to help bring that culture back. We want to be your late-night spot for those cravings, providing a cozy atmosphere for the community and our hospitality community; our Restaurant veterans want a late night spot to grab a a bite and see their friends before heading home.

We want to be Bernal’s community hangout; built to last a life time and a place to share with generations to come.

We also hope to share our knowledge and resources to support and uplift other local businesses because local business has supported us. At Chicáno Nuevo, we’re committed to creating a home for culture and community, where everyone is welcome and valued.

Incentives

We have three tiers to hopefully help incentives your contributions!

$200 contribution a shirt designed only for contributors by the one and only Erik Marinovich. Look at the tired Bart, let’s turn this pop-up into a REAL LIVING RESTAURANT. 

$500 contribution a shirt and hoodie for those chilly nights! Let’s fill your wardrobe with these babies.

$1000 contribution a shirt, hoodie, and your name or nickname of your choice to be written and placed inside Chicáno Nuevo so everyone and you, know you helped us open. You have made a commitment to being apart of the past, present, and future of this space and we are so excited to continue to build a lasting relationship.

**Participants that contribute in each tier will receive a personal message from us requesting your preference of size of shirt and/or hoodie; which will be handed out at our exclusive event.

EVERYONE WHO HAS RECEIVED A SHIRT; will be invited to an exclusive event before opening. We want you to see what we are up to and how the space turned out. Let’s get this place up and running so we can eat some fish tacos because we are craving and waiting too.
