Please Help Us Bury This Mother of Seven.

My name is Amelia. I am creating this fundraiser in an attempt to help my family after the sudden, unexpected and tragic death of Marielle Evans. She is my girlfriend's cousin, and more importantly a mother of seven. Her kids ages are 15, 12, 9, 6, 4, 2, and 4 months.

Marielle had a very unfortunate upbringing and was emotionally scarred to say the least. She was never afforded the opportunity to get and education or build a life for herself. Her kids were all she had and she did the best she could with what she had. The older four are taking her passing extremely hard. And the younger three don't really understand. It is so devastating to witness.

Marielle was walking to the gas station just before dark last Thursday, October 10th when she was hit by a car and died on the scene. It was almost dark, there are no street lights in the area, and there is no sidewalk on the side of the street her neighborhood is on. In order to be on the sidewalk, she had no choice but to cross the street. She made it to the middle of the street and paused for a car to pass so she could finish crossing and continue her journey on the sidewalk. She was hit by a car traveling in one of the lanes she had already crossed. She flew through the windshield of that vehicle and then the driver swerved and wrecked, causing her body to be thrown onto the street. Her cell phone was shattered and her shoes were missing. The vehicle and street was covered in blood. Cars continued to pass until one finally stopped to shield her body from being hit again. She was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital and her passenger provided a statement and left the scene. Her body laid slain in the middle of the street for hours while our family stood at the edge of the road and watched everybody process the scene.

Five of her kids are currently with my girlfriend and I, and our five children. You did read that correctly. We are now a household of 12. The other two kids are with their grandmother. It is so hard to watch them all grieve.

Our family has come together to make the arrangements for her funeral and be there for her kids in this devastating time, but we need a lot of help paying for her funeral.
