Help fund Bouakham's Freedom and Medical Care

UPDATE!

We made the goal to secure her freedom (THANK YOU AMAZING PEOPLE!!!) We're beyond grateful, and are keeping the gofundme open as she suffers from malnutrition, neglect, and abuse, and we need all the help to pay for her medical care and life in sanctuary. The most amazing news is that Bouakham is going to be free, loved, and cared for, thanks to you. *HEART BURST*

Her name is Bouakham. For her enslavers in Laos, this gorgeous elephant is cruelly taunted and painfully forced to log trees out of the forest sun up to sun down by pulling them behind her using chains. She's at least 20% underweight, beaten, treated abominably, suffers from high liver enzymes, and we believe she also worked in the tourist industry. She is 49 years old and has known only this. This is no life for a sentient remarkable social being.

We reached our goal to buy her freedom from enslavement, and now seek funds for her medical treatment as she suffers from malnourishment and liver problems from her enslaver's malice, starvation, and maltreatment.

The Dodo highlighted a piece about Aaron who runs https://www.plantingpeace.org/ a registered charity, where 100% of your funds will go. The Dodo did not, unfortunately, provide any information to further support Aaron and his organization to save additional elephants like Bouakham, or help feed those he has rescued. This gofundme is to rectify such and help raise funds necessary to rescue and care for these beautiful elephants' future and freedom.
