Help Ten City Music Legend Fight Cancer & Homelessness

Hello, Amazing Supporters,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Byron Burke, also known as Popâ Ur-Mää. I’m a founding member and the creative force behind Ten City, a pioneering house music group from Chicago that helped shape the early ’90s house music scene. We delivered chart-topping hits such as That’s The Way Love Is (YouTube Video Below), Right Back to You , and Devotion , to name a few.

Today, I am reaching out to you with a deeply personal and urgent plea for support. Over the past few years, I’ve been battling a severe and extremely debilitating form of bone marrow cancer. This painful condition has been compounded by a series of unfortunate events that have left me physically and financially devastated. As a result, I am now homeless, largely due to a landlord who chose to repurpose the space I was renting for profit by housing migrants instead.

I am in desperate need of your immediate assistance to help me secure safe shelter, where I can properly attend to my medical needs, fight this cancer battle, pay for mounting medical expenses, and begin the journey to rebuilding my life. My ultimate goal is to return to doing what I love most: creating music that brings joy to others.

Every contribution, no matter how big or small, is a step toward helping me regain my health and rebuild my life.
