Help Cade Recover from a Hit & Run while Biking
Donation protected
UPDATE we are so so grateful for your donations. What an incredible show of support! While the amount raised so far is significant, Cade still needs another surgery and his bills from the initial treatment will likely exceed the amount raised. If you are able to donate more, it will be very appreciated.
Help out our boy! On March 12, our friend and MAKfam bartender Cade (he/him) was the victim of a hit and run while biking down 11th St in Denver. He was in the bike lane when a non-commercial truck suddenly pulled out of an alley. Cade hit the side of the truck and the driver promptly ran. He was taken to the hospital by an ambulance.
Cade’s jaw was fractured in two places, his hand sliced up, and his bike totaled. He required 10 stitches and needs two jaw surgeries. It will be at least another 6 weeks before he can eat or speak normally. The driver has not yet been found.
As Cade is currently unable to bartend and his health insurance has not kicked in yet and he cannot work right now, we’d like to help out with his day-to-day, medical, and ambulance costs as much as possible. Complications arose during the first attempt at jaw surgery, so we don't know exactly how much the bills will end up being and we may need to adjust the fundraising goal accordingly.
It’s going to be a long road to recovery, so please consider donating if you can. He, his friends, and family would really appreciate it (and you, you superstar kind soul).
