Help Caernarfon fight off two big planning applications

Galwad pwysig a brys arall am eich helpi atal dau ddatblygiad llygrol Jones Brothers: gorsaf ynni brig nwy a gwaith prosesu concrit wrth ymyl ei gilydd ac o fewn ychydig fetrau i gartrefi pobl, ysbyty, dwy ysgol, maes chwarae, parc y dref, afon ac erwau o goetir yn cefnogi ecosystemau cyfoethog!

Mae Grŵp Cymunedol Caernarfon Lân wedi cynhyrchu dwy ddogfen wrthwynebiad sylweddol ar y ddau gais cynllunio hyn (cliciwch yma), gan gwmpasu sawl rheswm pam na ddylid rhoi caniatâd iddynt fynd ymlaen - gan gynnwys y sŵn a llygredd aer o'r gweithfeydd eu hunain ac oddi wrth y traffig parhaol o 120 lorïau HGV y dydd a fydd yn rhuthro heibio i gartrefi pobl.

Yn y Flwyddyn Newydd, rydym wedi cael gwahoddiad i ddod â thystiolaeth i dri gwrandawiad cyhoeddus Llywodraeth Cymru ar y Cais Gorsaf Brig Ynni Nwy - sy'n ymdrin â llygredd aer, llygredd sŵn a materion cynllunio.

Hefyd, byddwn yn cael cyfle i siarad yng nghyfarfod Pwyllgor Cynllunio'r Cyngor ar y cais Gwaith Prosesu Concrit.

Diolch am rhai rhoddion caredig iawn gan bobl leol a chefnogwyr brwd eraill, rydym wedi llwyddo i gael ymgynghorwyr aer a sŵn ein hunain i gydweithio gyda ni i ddarganfod methiannau technegol, camgymeriadau a hepgoriadau yn yr adroddiadau y mae ymgynghorwyr Jones Brothers wedi'u cynhyrchu ar gyfer y ddau gais.

Mae ein hymgynghorwyr wedi cynhyrchu dau adroddiad technegol llawn ar ein cyfer, ond gwan iawn fydd dylanwad yr adroddiadau hyn oni bai ein bod yn gallu talu'r ymgynghorwyr i fynychu'r Gwrandawiadau Cyhoeddus a dadlau ar ein rhan yn erbyn amddiffynfeydd a gyflwynir gan ymgynghorwyr Jones Brothers.

Yn garedig iawn, mae'r ddau o'n hymgynghorwyr wedi codi tâl gostyngol 'cyfraddau cymunedol' arnom, ond mae'n rhaid i ni rwan godi mwy o arian yn gyflym iawn, tuag at ein targed o £10,000, er mwyn talu i'r arbenigwyr hynny i sefyll ochr yn ochr â ni yng nghamau nesaf o'r frwydr ....!

A FURTHER DESPERATE CALL FOR YOUR HELP to stop Jones Brothers' two polluting developments: a gas-fired generating plant and a concrete processing plant right next to each other and within metres of people’s homes, a hospital, two schools, playing fields, a town park, a river and acres of woodland supporting rich ecosystems!

The Caernarfon Lân Community Group have produced two major objection documents on these two planning applications (click here and here), covering multiple reasons why permission should not be granted for them to go ahead - including the noise and air pollution from the plants themselves and from the permanent transit of 120 HGV lorries a day that will be rattling past people’s homes.

We have been invited to bring evidence in the New Year to three Welsh Government public hearings on the Gas Peaking Plant Application – covering Air Pollution, Noise Pollution and Planning Issues.

We will also have the opportunity to speak at the Council’s Planning Committee Meeting on the Concrete Processing Application.

Thanks to some very kind donations from local people and other caring supporters, we have managed to get our own Air and Noise consultants on board to find technical failings, mistakes and omissions in the reports that Jones Brothers’ consultants have produced for each of their Applications.

Our consultants have produced two very technical reports for us, but those reports will be of minimal use unless we are able to pay the consultants to attend the Public Hearings and argue back on the defences that Jones Brothers own consultants will put forward.

Both of our consultants are kindly charging us at reduced, ‘community rates’, but we must now raise more funds very quickly, towards our target of £10,000, in order to pay for those experts to be alongside us in the next stages of the battle....!

That is why we’re putting out this latest desperately urgent requestfor anyone who hasn’t already donated to make whatever contribution they feel they can afford to help stop the threatened developments in their tracks….!
