Help Cait and her fight against Cancer

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brooke and I am creating this go fund me on behalf of Caitlin and her family. As a friend I have witnessed this woman always be a helpful hand to anyone in need and now its our turn to help her and her family as they navigate this difficult road ahead. Please read Cait's story below and share so we can take one less worry away from the family at this time and Cait can focus on one thing only, fighting for her life.

At 32 years old, I had some concerns that led me to seek treatment. My doctors dismissed my concerns for 2 years until I demanded a colonoscopy. 7 months later, I finally had the colonoscopy that determined that I had stage 4 colorectal cancer. At 34 years old with two sons (ages 3 and 5), I began a grueling combination of heavy hitter chemotherapy. I responded to the chemo and was able to have some radiation and then the removal of the primary tumor and things were looking good. 6 months later, the cancer returned to my lymph nodes. I began chemo again and continued for almost 8 months. I responded, but not as well this time. Since the beginning of May this year I’ve been off chemo, trying to heal myself naturally with diet and lifestyle changes. Unfortunately, I’m still battling and on November 16th I will be starting a clinical trial that will basically be trying to tell my immune system to attack my specific cancer. For the trial, I will be in the hospital for 12 days where they expect the treatment to make me pretty sick, but I should recover by discharge. Then I must stay within 30 minutes of their hospital in San Francisco to attend twice a week appointments and to ensure immediate treatment if more symptoms arise. This means that I will be staying in San Francisco from November 16th through December 17th. I will be away from my boys with just occasional visits from them. My husband and mom will be alternating coming up to stay with me. Unfortunately, I’ll be in the hospital on Thanksgiving and will be missing my boys terribly, but I pray that this treatment is my cure and this time away from my family will mean many future holidays together.
