Help Calcifer Beat FIP: Support His Treatment
Donation protected
We are James and Vanessa Epperson reaching out and asking for help. Our cat Calcifer was diagnosed with WET FIP this past Wednesday, 4/23. He seemed to be improving with the GS medication until this morning, 4/27, when things took a turn for the worse. He was having trouble breathing and stopped for a moment before we were able to get him on his side, get him breathing again, and took him to the ER. They drained 200ml of fluid from his chest cavity and reran his bloodwork. His numbers are low; his sugar was at 30, and his potassium was also very low. He is at risk of seizing right now. We signed off for him to stay overnight for monitoring and are hoping for improvement within the next couple of hours. The bill is currently sitting at a high end of $3,700. We have this in savings, but that wipes us out completely for his continued treatment of FIP. A 30-day supply is $585, and he needs 84 doses to fully beat it. We are hoping to raise at least $2,500 to cover the FIP treatment and any additional bloodwork that is required to monitor this illness, as well as supplies like high-calorie cat food to help him gain weight. We truly appreciate anything you can manage to donate and understand everyone is suffering in this economy. Calcifer is our little man; he is such a good cat and companion and has helped us both through very trying times over the past 3+ years. He deserves the best care in the world. Please help us give that to him.
