Help Caliph Heal After Saving His Family
Donation protected
On November 5th, 2024, while the world was getting ready for our presidential election, I received the most heart-shattering phone call a wife could receive. Around 10 am, my phone rang; it was my husband screaming the most ear-piercing cry I've ever heard in my life. He could not speak, only scream in agony. I jumped in my car to race home, only to find a horrific scene. My husband and twins were in a house fire. My husband walked from our kitchen all the way to the back of our home, engulfed in flames, leaving behind a trail of blood and skin to get our kids out of the home (A father's love). Not only did he save the lives of our children, but he also saved our home. In an effort to put the flames out in our kitchen, he himself became engulfed due to a grease fire. He has suffered severe burn injuries to 35 percent of his body, both 2nd and 3rd degree burns. We reside in Albany, GA, so he was airlifted from Phoebe Putney Memorial to Augusta Burn Center in Augusta, GA, where he will undergo extensive surgery and skin grafting procedures. Augusta is 4 hours away from Albany. This will be an extremely long journey to recovery for Caliph, being as though he is a Type 1 insulin-dependent diabetic. While we do have insurance that will cover some of his medical procedures, we will still need to be able to travel to be there and support him. We have no immediate family here in Georgia to help with our 4 children (3-year-old twins, a 5-year-old, and an 11-year-old). We are shattered as a family right now, and we could use the help of anybody that is willing to give. Your donations will go towards medical expenses, traveling expenses, shelter expenses, and food expenses.❤️
