Help Cameron become a market farmer
Donation protected
Thanks for coming to my GoFundMe!
I've been a bartender in the queer community of Denver for the last 15 years. It's been a wild ride, and I'm grateful for the friends I've made and the community I've helped to create.
But it isn't my dream to stay a bartender forever.
My dream is to become a farmer.
I want to become a local market farmer who sustainably grows high-quality vegetables and sells them for reasonable prices to members of the community. I want to provide restaurants and individuals in Denver with healthy, tasty, locally-grown food. I dream of providing good food to my friends, family, and neighbors through local farmer's markets and a CSA. I want to increase biodiversity and regenerate the soil on the plot of land I farm.
This is a big dream, and I need your help to bring it to fruition.
How I Got Here
At the start of the pandemic, I began rethinking how I wanted my life to look. I love my coworkers. I love my job. Bartending has provided community for me. But I'm also a sober vegetarian bartending at a hamburger joint! I found myself wanting my life to be more in line with who I am and what I'm passionate about.
I have a passion for growing food. I always have. I also have a passion for nourishing people. Becoming a market farmer allows me to live into my dream while remaining connected to the people I love.
How I'll Use the Funds
The average market farm can take upwards of $40,000 to get off the ground. I'm starting small and seeking to raise $10,000 to start Crabby Goat Farm. This money covers the cost of seeds, tools, labor, marketing, and my essential needs so that I can bartend a bit less and devote the majority of my time to building the farm.
Thank you for your support. Every donation gets me a little closer to realizing my dream.
