Help Cameron Fight the Big C

Donation protected
Hi everyone,
We are reaching out to you on behalf of our dear friend, Cameron Matthews.
As some of you may know, Cameron was recently diagnosed with HER2-Positive breast cancer.
Cameron had just turned 31 the day before receiving this awful news.
If you know Cameron, you know how resilient they are but they need our help right now.
Cameron needs to undergo various procedures and treatments while on the path to recovery which are not covered by their insurance.
Reasonably, Cameron is not able to work through this process so our hope is that we can raise enough money to aid any financial burden that this whole diagnosis has brought and will bring them. The funds will go towards their basic living expenses and medical expenses.
Our current goal is to raise $15,000 to help Cameron focus on their health and recovery without worrying about these outrageous expenses.
Please join us in supporting Cameron during this challenging fight against breast cancer. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will go a long way for this incredible person. If you are not in the financial position to contribute, please consider sharing this fundraiser on your social platforms to spread the word.

From Jude: If you have the honor of knowing Cam, like I do, you know that Cam is a rare, genuine soul—the type of soul that you are lucky to come across *maybe* one or two in your lifetime..if you’re lucky. Cam can light up any room with just a smile. I bet just reading that, you are now picturing their contagious smile…am I right?! Nothing beats it. It is such a perfect outward representation of their warm, caring soul within. A loyal friend and the biggest hype man you will ever have in your life. Since the moment we met, Cam and I had an instant connection—they instantly became my best friend, my baby boy. Cam was actually the first non-binary person I met in real life. I had always struggled with feeling like an outcast but it was Cam who taught me, well showed me just by being themself...that being non-binary is cool, “normal,” and actually quite beautiful. Cam ALWAYS makes those around them feel like a million bucks.

It is now our turn to show up for Cam like they always show up for us. Our turn to collectively be the biggest hype man ever, just like Cam is to each and every one of us every day. If anyone can beat this damn Cancer, it is my Cam. I love you and I always got you, baby boy. Let’s do this. Fuck Cancer.

We appreciate any way you can help! Please read a note from Cameron below:

Cameron here.
This is for sure the scariest thing that has ever happened to me.
On July 26th, one day after my birthday, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
What a fucking year.
My mom had breast cancer twice and so when I found a lump 2.5 months ago, I was like, "oh no".
Anyway, on the positive side, I already wanted to get top surgery, which is a type of double-mastectomy that caters to masculinization of the chest.
This by no means solves the issue though; I will need to not only have the surgery (and probably sooner than getting the specific type of surgeon I want), but I will need to do many tests/testing, more biopsies, radiation, and.....the worse part... I may need chemo. yeah... chemotherapy.
It has been really hard even figuring out whether I wanted to keep this private or ask the internet for help. And for all we know we only live this life once, and so I say fuck it. I am making myself vulnerable at an extremely vulnerable time asking for help.
Here are the things me and my family need help raising funds for:
1. I will be out of work, and my sick time will undoubtedly run out before this is all said and done.
2. Medications. My insurance will cover it but the extent to which I will need meds will far exceed the ratio in which I get paid.
3. My mom will be staying with me in LA. She is retired and will not be able to expense staying with me for as long as it will probably take to care for me during this time.
4. Travel. Gas. to and from all of the appointments, and also possibly any plane trips that I may need to take to get medical care.
5. Any additional surgery and treatment costs.

If you can donate anything to help in this fucking horrible process, it would mean the world to me. Trying to stay positive. Sending love to everyone, including myself. FUCK THIS SHIT. The universe has a plan.
