Help Candice Cover Her Medical Costs
Donation protected
Our friend and sister Candice Jessop was recently diagnosed with myxoid liposarcoma, a rare type of cancer, in her left thigh. She has already undergone surgery for what was initially misdiagnosed as a benign lipoma but doctors have confirmed, after additional biopsies and several advanced imaging scans that it is cancer and pathology provided false information. The doctors have also expressed concern that it may have spread to her lungs, spinal cord, and left hip, so a PET scan is being done to confirm if these areas are active sites. She is currently preparing for surgery on December 22nd which will remove the remainder of the tumor and a large portion of her left hamstring. Post operatively she will require extensive rehabilitative therapy to learn to walk on her own again. It is possible she will need to undergo chemotherapy and radiation as well, depending on the results of the PET scan. She will need extensive skin and fat grafting to the site that insurance deemed not medically necessary. The doctors have also recommended Hyperbaric Chamber Therapy, Cryotherapy, and Red Light Therapy. None of these therapies are covered by insurance either.
Candice has brought so much joy to the lives of her friends and family, the last thing we would want is for her to have to go navigate the painful surgeries, recoveries, and therapy that comes with cancer just to be overwhelmed with medical bills at the end of it.
Please keep our dear friend in your thoughts and consider donating anything you can afford to help ease the financial burden for her.
