Help Candice with her Medical Challenges

Donation protected
Hello,

We are in need of financial aid for a Medical Emergency which includes expensive and ongoing medications & living expenses. This has greatly affected my ability to earn and these complications have left us struggling!

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I realize there are a LOT of people having to have a gofundme to help with serious problems many of us face with this world pandemic but several friends have encouraged me to create a gofundme to help with the short term goal costs I am being hit with while trying to get on track and recover from my type 2 diabetes. This, and COVID-19 has hampered my ability to earn money for the last few months and next few weeks and possibly months. My personal income has been reduced to nothing.

On April 13th, 2021, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and it has been an uphill battle ever since. The problem is, the worry and stress I am under having no work or not being able to work is beginning to really wear me down which is greatly hampering my ability to earn even more because I am feeling unwell despite all attempts to exercise and get proper rest for recovery. The medications that I need are expensive it’s gonna cost me $700+ a month in prescriptions and I don’t have a medical plan to cover these costs. The stress alone of not working and bills piling up does not help me to recover and I am only getting more ill.

The goal is to reverse the diabetes immediately so that I can go off the pill medication for it, but I will still have to take other medications for high blood pressure and other physical challenges which are still expensive. I strive to be healthy as soon as possible and back to work so that I don’t have to stay on gofundme forever. However, I’m not in a position right now to physically change all of this immediately, so in the meantime, I am struggling physically and financially. I am falling behind on my rental payments and I am already 2 months behind. I have also had to stop my educational courses until I have things under control more. My daughter and I need groceries to function properly or we will both become ill. In addition two the two months behind in rent, my utilities, and surprise medically related bills keep popping up. Courses I have been taking to improve my work have also been put on hold because the priority right now is for me to take care of my health. I physically and financially can’t afford to neglect eating because with diabetes, I need to eat some meals during the day so I don’t plummet and crash.

Even while trying to get healthy, I still have an uphill battle when it comes to my financial security because not working has been a huge setback.  It is a vicious cycle of stress, trying to relax, worrying about the bills piling up and then wondering if I can pay for my medications and regular bills. I was in emergency 2 weeks ago for extreme anxiety which had symptoms closely related to a heart attack/and stroke. My doctor has strongly advised that because of the chest pains I’ve been having and the numbness in my face that it may have been possible I did have a blood clot. I keep being told to rest by my doctor but my anxiety levels, fatigue and diabetic symptoms are through the roof and it is costing me a great loss of the ability to earn an income daily. I must be able to return to work as soon as possible as I am the sole income earner in my home but without the proper medications and bills piling up, the stress is affecting my blood sugars, high blood pressure and is keeping me on bed rest and unable to work. I have also had an ultrasound of my leg for a blood clot (apparently, very common with diabetics) which also had me very stressed since stroke and heart attacks are very prevalent in both of my parents, I am vulnerable to these because of the diabetes.

In addition to the above, only a couple weeks after my diabetes diagnosis , my daughter and I were informed that we were in direct contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19 and since then we are legally required to quarantine which sets me even further back in my ability to earn. Since being in contact with this person, both my daughter and I have been feeling more unwell than usual.

I have to take my medications quite possibly for life but I want to strive to be free of them as soon as possible. Your donations can help me achieve this. Your donations will be applied to all of the medical, rent, utilities, and health food needs that my daughter and I are currently facing. My daughter is dependent on me since she is in school and is unable to  sustain for herself. Again, this is only short term that I am asking for help while I try to recover and it isn't possible until the gofundme goal has been reached. I aim to be back at work and on my feet again financially as soon as possible but I can’t do it without your help. For those of you who are considering helping us, I cannot thank you enough! I do hope that you can find it within your day to even spare five or $10 or $20 or whatever dollar amount you would like to donate. If you can’t donate, then please at least share the link for this gofundme.

I realize that everyone is trying to do their part to help everyone in their communities with Covid being priority, however, this medical emergency is just as real for my daughter and I and we do need as much financial assistance as is possible. If you are in a position to donate, please do. My livelihood and life depends upon it. I have been very sick since January 2021 but was too embarrassed to ask for help. Now, I have to swallow that pride and ask.

I’ve been working my way to a healthier lifestyle of eating (doctor and nutritionist recommend ), and exercise to stay healthy. But it’s really taking a toll on me when I have a health setback and I can’t afford to pay bills like electricity or food or Internet or even my rent on time because I am still behind on some things. I am very humbly and gratefully asking to raise $10,000 which would help us towards the cost of expensive medications, rent, utilities and food. I know for some of you who know me well, this may be upsetting to see that I might be in a similar situation as I was three years ago but I have made great strides since. Now, however, my circumstances have changed in that I face a medical challenge during a world pandemic! The fact is, my overworking has now lead to some serious health issues. It's a vicious cycle. I have the determination to get back to work as quickly as I can but it may take another few months to be fully on top of things because I do not have a medical plan to cover costs.

Once this campaign really gets going, I will be posting periodic updates.

I wish you all a wonderful day I bless anyone who donates or shares this campaign with all my love, and appreciation.
