Help Cara, David, Seychelle, and Soren Rebuild

On September 26, Hurricane Helene made landfall, leaving a path of destruction from heavy rain and flooding. I'm creating this page along with my sister, Debbie, and our daughters, Emma and Sarah, to help our family members living in Bokeelia, Florida. We are humbly asking for support after the tragic event devastated the home and lives of our niece, nephew, grandniece (age 14) and grandnephew (age 8) & cousins. They have lost everything, including their home, to Hurricane Helene. They are currently sheltering in the upper floor of a nearby barn. We are asking our community to help our beloved family members who are in need of immediate emergency relief and long-term recovery.

Their entire home and most of their belongings were destroyed during the hurricane. When they were able to get back to where they lived, they found that the home and life they'd built had been destroyed by surging sea water. They are now attempting to somehow carry on, in shock and homeless. It's heart-wrenching. We know that they don't want to be a burden to anyone else in their time of need, so we are raising our voices for them. The road ahead for them will be long and daunting.

We are reaching out to our friends/family, and community in hopes that you can help Cara, David, Seychelle and Soren begin to get their lives back after this devastating hardship.

Home Reparations/Flood Damage Mitigation, Mold Remediation, Replacing Lost Belongings & Living Expenses

UPDATE 10/7/24: As Cara, David, Seychelle and Soren are struggling to salvage anything possible from Hurricane Helene and try to shore up what's left of their home, they now face the challenge of getting out of the area before Hurricane Milton, heading directly toward them, hits. We are heartbroken for their struggle and their losses. At the same time, we are grateful beyond words by the generous outpouring of support from our friends, family, and community. We understand that people are struggling everywhere, and face a multitude of challenges every single day. The fact that you've stepped up to give whatever you can to help our family is poignantly touching. We appreciate you, and each message of support, each donation, and each prayer.
