Stage 4 glioma: Cara has chosen to go on hospice
Donation protected
Update from Chris:
I wanted to take a moment to provide an update regarding Cara. As many of you are aware, Cara is a true fighter, but she has come to a point where she can't fight any longer. She has made a tremendously courageous and difficult choice to transition her care to hospice. She is currently at home, finally able to rest as her body is starting to fail her.
I ask that you all continue to keep us in your prayers during this incredibly challenging time. I need all the strength and resilience that the Lord can provide us as we move forward.
Thank you all for your continued prayers, love and support; it truly means the world to us. Please if you could continue to share our story with the world. We have raised our goal to continue to help Chris, Cara and the kids financially during this time; as we hope to keep Cara home and comfortable. We would also like to start putting away some funds for Sienna and Dylan.
Thank you so much!
Hi, my name is Melissa. I am fundraising for my sister in law and brother to help them through a very difficult time. Cara, my sister in law, was recently diagnosed with a stage 4 high grade glioma after suffering from a seizure at work a few weeks ago. She underwent urgent surgery to remove the tumor, but since it has grown back. Cara works as a speech pathologist for children but unfortunately has been having trouble with her speech since surgery. Cara is one of the sweetest and strongest people you will ever meet and is an amazing mother to Sienna (6) and Dylan (3).
She is not new to fighting; she has fought oligodendroglioma and also a rare bone cancer as a child. In true fighting spirit, she will be starting a trial, which is a few hours from their home to fight this! Unfortunately, Cara has been out of work for weeks and financially things are growing increasingly difficult and has hindered my brother from attending important appointments with her due to having to work.
Please, please, please, if you can help them get through this tough time. Anything will help. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and thank your for your donation❤️ Happy holidays and Happy new year!
