Help Caring for Dakota City's Community Cats

My name is Elizabeth Coughlin and I'm currently living in Dakota City, NE. Just in my short period of time here, we've seen a huge influx of community cats. Just in our block alone, we have one momma and ten kittens from two litters. As a HUGE animal lover, it pains me to see this. I'm desperately worried that this could snowball into a MUCH bigger problem.

We are looking for funds to help cover spaying, neutering, vaccinations, food, and any other supplies we may need, i.e., cardboard cat carriers and flyers. The average cost for spaying, neutering and vaccinations is around $175 per cat.

With the high cost of spaying and neutering, we are in desperate need of your help!

I am also trying to work with city council far as getting the word out about this project and to push the community to spay and neuter their cats.

Saving these cats will stop the overpopulation of unwanted cats and take the stress off of the female cats who will continually keep having babies. The momma cat is young herself, and I just can't imagine her having to continue to have these litters that could result in death. Vaccinating these kittens will also stop the spread of rabies throughout the community.
