Help With My HEART WARRIOR Daughter
Donation protected
This has been the worst year of our lives. My 11 year old daughter, Arianna, had a very high risk open heart surgery in August. She basically had to have part of her aorta removed and replaced with tissue from a cow. Thankfully, although she had about a 15% risk of not making it, and a 30% chance of being paralyzed, neither of those things happened. Her left vocal cord is paralyzed, however, as a risk of her surgery. She couldn’t speak at first, but they have done a few surgeries to help block her airway, but she continues to cough and choke. Since August shes has 2 more surgical procedures and is still in pain and having complications. During the Thanksgiving break things got more complicated when she began to suffer with PTSD from her surgery. She cries a lot, has panic attacks and mood swings, doesn’t sleep well, and can’t handle being around a lot of people. Her psychologist was forced to put her on homebound and pull her out of school. I’ve been getting docked pay this entire time, and it will continue, I don’t know how long she will be out of school, or how long I will be out of work to care for her, but she is most important, and I have to sacrifice my pay to be with her. Thanks for any help.
