Dear friends and family,
Cancer has once again come in to try and destroy a dear friend of mine. In honor of Breast Cancer Month of October, I ask if you consider making a donation to help my friend in her time of need. She has been dignosed with stage 1, Invasive ductal carcinoma. Also called triple negative breast cancer. She is scheduled to have surgery Nov 20 to remove a cancerous area. During the surgery they will do a sentinel node biopsy also to see if it's spread to her lymph nodes. After time she will also require a second surgery and potentially chemotherapy. I think all of us know what effects cancer can do to an individual physically and financially. She will be out of work for 6 weeks following surgery. And God only knows what kind of follow-up procedures, treatments, and medicines she will have to have. The medical bills will come no doubt about it.
If you dont know my friend I will tell you a little about her. She is a Kenmore East High School - Buff State Undergrad - University of Buffalo Masters. She is a Veterans Administration Social Worker. I ve seen her march for veterans and takes her work personally to try and help our Vets out. I have seen her donate her time, money, and spirit to many causes she strongly believes in.
She is an all Buffalo girl. Bills (ughhhh) and Sabres diehard fan. About a year ago, she took control of her nutrition and has done some amazing things with her health and food choices-- thus living a much healthier lifestyle. Then cancer strikes. So it's time to remind it who is really in control-- not cancer. And most importantly she is a great friend to me and many others.
We never know the hand we will be dealt in life. She certainly didnt ask for this or deserve it. She has the spirit and drive to get through this. No donation is too small. Imagine if every one we know skipped a coffee or soda one day and gave. She could use our help in the future and deserves it . She has a long road ahead of her.
