Help Carl Raise his Nieces and Nephews

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Julie and I am starting this GoFundMe for the Bettano Family. Carl Bettano, Sr. tragically passed away from Covid 19 on January 4, 2022 at the age of 67. Carl was a self less man that was raising his deceased sons children for the past 7 years their names and ages are as follows, Lena (12), Michael (11) and Gianna (7). When his son Michael passed away 7 years ago, Carl stepped in to raise these three wonderful children full time at the age of 60 years old. He never thought twice about it and he adopted them as his own. I am hoping to raise some money to help his son Carl continue to follow is his father's path and raise these three children that have already lost so much. Please consider donating to this cause and we would be so grateful for any amount you are able to give.

Following is part of his Eulogy written by his dear niece Kim whom he loved with all of his heart:

He was a loving father to Michael, Chris and Carl. A very tight, loving family, who enjoyed breakfast together every Saturday and Dinners every Sunday. Chris recalls some of the best memories were their trip to Italy and Spain, numerous trips to fort Lauderdale and visiting the cottage in Kingston NH . He also recalls a trip to Disney where Uncle Carl jumped in the pool and lost his hair piece. They worked together and took the train together. At one point all three of them worked at AHA. Carl Jr. describes his father was more of a best friend. They talked and video chatted multiple times a day and visited the house daily.

· He was a devoted husband to Janet

· He was little brother to Charlie and Vinnie Bettano who always claimed that Uncle Carl was his mother’s favorite.

· He was a good sport when one of those brothers always inappropriately insisted that he heard bells every time he walked into the room.

· A boy that was so skinny that my father used to tell to stand sideways and stick out his tongue because when he did, he looked like a zipper.

· Uncle Carl loved gardening and was very proud of the backyard oasis that he built. You could always find him working in his yard, planting flowers and posting those pictures on facebook for all to see.

· He was also an amazing dancer. (Insert another inappropriate joke from my father about him being light on his feet.). He took up ballroom dancing with my mother Linda. You could always find those two on the dancefloor at any event putting us all to shame.

· He was an amazing Uncle. Never missing a holiday or event or the opportunity to sing karakoke with my sister Jen. Which, oddly enough, one of his favorite songs to sing was by the Cowsills, whose lyrics are “Give me head with hair, Long beautiful hair.

· And most importantly, he was Papa. To Lena , Michael and Gianna. As most of us know, parentlng is a tough job even with 2 parents. But he did it as an older single man. And he did with grace, and patience and with the help of his amazing support system with Carl Chris, Amylee Janet and the DiZoglio Family.

· Uncle Carl was a spiritual man. He believed in God and Angels and even claims to have met several over the course of his life. He frequently visited mediums to contact our loved ones who had already passed on. My sister Jen held a session with a medium, and my dad, always the skeptic, told Uncle Carl not to give any info to the medium so we could find out how good she really was. Well, when she started talking about an old man with a Scally Cap, he shouted, that’s Uncle Frankie!!!!!! Completely ruining the plan. While we were away over thanksgiving weekend, he was talking to my sister Lisa about stories he was looking up online about Angels. Little did we all know, that we would gain Uncle Carl as an Angel so soon. He remained positive right to the end, often telling Carl Jr. to SMILE while they were on facetime together. It’s one of the last things Carl Jr. said to his father….. SMILE.

· He’s gone too soon. But I’m glad we have him in heaven watching over us. Uncle Carl, There will always be a spot for you at the dining room table and hole in our hearts.

· We used to joke with him about a phrase he frequently said which was “Papa needs his rest”. You can rest peacefully now Uncle Carl knowing that the kids are being taken care of and can unite in heaven with Michael and Nunu, Grandma Bettano and all those who’ve gone before us.
