Help Carla Fight for Her Life at UCLA

My name is Julia and I am 75 years old and asking for help from anyone that can help for my daughter Carla. My daughter Daysi is helping me set this up and manage this account. We are helping Carla pay for her expenses while she is hospitalized.

My daughter Carla is 49 years old and she is currently fighting for her life at UCLA due to heart failure, an aggressive form of pulmonary hypertension and kidney failure. She is currently at UCLA working hard with her doctors to keep her alive.

Carla is a healthcare worker at UMC hospital and on two separate occasions while on the job she passed out due to lack of oxygen while feeding a patient. She was unable to continue working and had to sign up for Cobra. Cobra terminated in June 30th and sent her a letter mid June to let her know but she was admitted in the ICU and was unaware that she was uninsured because she was not home and could not open her mail.

She is now uninsured for the month of July and we need as much help as possible to pay for her to be listed for her lung transplant and to pay for me to relocate to Los Angeles for three months while she recovers from that. We live in Las Vegas and have to obtain her treatment in UCLA because Nevada does not have the doctors that she needs.

She is currently on the ECMO machine and has to wait 14 days for her insurance to become effective but each day we wait is a greater risk of her having a stroke, bleeding out or death. To say that she is a fighter and fighting for her life is an understatement. We are pleading that you help us keep Carla alive.
