Hello, This is Carletta. The picture on the left is from her 40th birthday celebration in early August 2020. Late August, she went to see her primary Dr, about some female issues. She was prescribed some birth control pills that maybe 2 weeks later, landed her in the ER. She immediately had to have a blood transfusion.
A cscan was performed and the Dr's found clotting , hemorrhage and swelling on her brain. She had a Bilateral stroke that has effected both sides of her brain and a seizure. For 30 days, she was on a ventilator, for 45 more days she had a trachea /w some ventilation treatments. She's been hospitalized since 9/11 and with much prayer and dedication, she is in rehab, and has had her trachea and feeding tube removed. She is learning to walk, think, talk, problem solve and care for her self, all over again. Before this she had been on her job as a medical coder for 8 years. She's waiting on financial approval from Social security but it is a waiting process. She have depleted her FMLA and has no income coming in at this time. Her job insurance ran its course and now she is having to pay for health insurance, rent, electricity, and other living expenses out of pocket. Her only daughter, family and friend's have been amazingly supportive during this time. There is still so much more ahead of her and she would appreciate your help to not loose what she have, and to maintain what she has. Thank you for reading her story and for your donation. may God bless you.
