Help Carley Take a Healing Sabbatical

This summer, our beloved friend Carley faced an unimaginable tragedy when her fiancé passed away unexpectedly. As her world turned upside down, Carley has been trying to balance grieving while keeping her business, Wildflyer Coffee, running. But now, more than ever, she needs time to tend to her broken heart.

Wildflyer’s board members and staff are coming together to cover Carley's Executive Director role for a 12-week leave. However, as a small nonprofit, Wildflyer isn’t in a position to provide paid leave. That’s where we come in.

We’re raising funds to provide Carley with a much-needed, well-deserved paid sabbatical—and to show her just how deeply she is loved. This devastating loss follows an already challenging season, both personally and professionally, for Carley. She’s been working tirelessly during Wildflyer's startup period (through a pandemic and a heightened period of social unrest and division) not for her gain, but to empower youth facing homelessness. Despite personal hardships, she has led with ingenuity, heart, and soul. And now is the time that we can give back. A paid sabbatical will give Carley space to heal without the pressures of leading the business—managing two coffee shops and its youth programming—or the financial worry of covering expenses.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 to cover Carley’s basic living expenses, lost wages, and the healing resources she needs, such as therapy, massage, and other self-care essentials.
