Help Carmenza and Nathalie with life-saving care
Donation protected
Carmenza Neira Nempeque is facing a significant medical challenge in Colombia.
At the end of 2019, she underwent another surgery to remove some biliary and pancreatic stones that were causing her great pain. After the long recovery period, she has been feeling better; however, after several trips to the emergency room, she was tested and diagnosed with a pancreatic tumour.
The only chance of survival, and potential curative surgery is the Whipple procedure (pancreaticoduodenectomy) that will take place over the next few days. This procedure will offer her the chance to regain her health and extend her life for some years.
She, along with her only daughter, Nathalie, are survivors of the Colombian Civil War. Several people in their family who also managed to escape the violence have developed similar kinds of medical issues.
Insurance limited coverage in Colombia and other associated costs will create a financial burden for Carmenza, Nathalie, and her close family.
As a gesture of appreciation, everybody who donates to the campaign will receive a digital drawing by artist Francisco-Fernando Granados as a gift. If you would like to receive the drawing, please email him at [email redacted]
Thank you so much for your solidarity.
