Help Caro Fight Cancer
Imagine being 26 just giving birth to the joy of your life, then four months later being diagnosed with Choriocarcinoma.
Life was exciting for Caro, she was now a mom! She was dreaming of the days that would come, the moments she’d enjoy all the many memories she’d get to share. Everything was incredible; the baby was growing just as expected but mom not so much. After a few short months after delivering her baby, she went to one of the many post pregnancy appointments to make sure everything was going just as it should be. After a few tests were done she got the terrible news that she had developed cancer. The next few minutes were moments filled with disbelief and shock, those happy moments she was dreaming of having got pushed aside. She went from having the excitement of being a new mom to shortly figuring out a the next steps of treatment and overcome this.
For the last year she has been in and out of the hospital, doing treatments, having surgeries, and visiting doctors offices. Many of the treatments have unfortunately been ineffective. Nurturing an infant and taking care of herself hasn’t been an easy task with all the ups and downs in her treatment plan, she spends countless hours in chemo sessions, doctor visits, hospital beds, resting from the war her body is fighting. She didn’t get the healthy new mom experience she dreamed of instead she was robbed of the moments she’ll never get back with her little girl; like the first time she rolled over on her own or took her first steps.
Something that was suppose to be just a few months of recovery has become a more difficult path and although she will continue to fight this cancer she’s been left with the difficulty of balancing being a new mom and a cancer patient all at once. Putting her daughter’s needs before her treatments has caused a small delay in her progress. Which is why we created this account, because she can’t afford this alone, Carol has worked too hard to be forced to walk away from treatments because of cost and risk not being here for her daughter. She knows she is strong and her future is full of moments to teach and love her baby in ways only a mother could.
Please help us fund her cancer treatments so her daughter can have a healthy mom to grow up with.
