Care for Caroline!

We are saddened to report that on Friday night, July 7, Caroline suffered a pontine stroke which has paralyzed her entire body. She is currently unable to move or speak. She is, however, conscious, stable, and receiving care at the Hospital General de la Ciudad de Tijuana.

To know Caroline is to love her. She lit up every room she entered with her engaging smile and twinkling eyes. Her energy, sense of adventure, and joyous spirit were contagious.

One of the qualities her friends most appreciated about Caroline was her abundant generosity: she always, always, put others first, whether supporting her beloved family, welcoming her friends into her home, or working all over the globe to help communities most in need.

And now Caroline desperately needs you …

Multiple tests, surgeries, and therapies are necessary, and they are extremely costly. Unlike in the States, in Mexico all medical fees are paid up-front and out of pocket. Her husband Pepe and daughter Amarilis desperately need your financial help in this precarious situation.

The money raised will pay for the mounting hospital bills, eventual medical transfer out of Mexico, moving and relocation costs, and ongoing medical treatment and rehabilitation.
