Help Caryn Fight Cancer

On July 12th, our beloved Caryn was diagnosed with Ewings, Sarcoma (a very rare type of cancer that occurs in bones, or in soft tissue around the bones). There are only 500 known cases of this type of cancer in the US.

Caryn will begin an extremely aggressive treatment regimen, as the nature of this type of cancer requires a cure. Caryn will spend the majority of the next six months at OHSU in Portland (where all of her treatment will be), undergoing both chemotherapy and radiation. This will require her to obtain additional housing in Portland, while maintaining her current residence and household expenses in each location. The need for housing is immediate as her port procedure is this Tuesday, and Chemo will begin next Friday.

As Caryn is not able to receive other supplemental benefit income at this time, the loss of her income will create a financial hardship for the family.

In our hearts, we know Caryn's competitive nature will drive her to the finish line of this treatment. Caryn's dedication to her son's Isaiah and DeShawn and the love of her life Steven will be her driving force.

We are asking the community to pull together and raise Caryn up in prayer. Help us provide enough support to Caryn and her family, so that she can quickly get well enough to be back in the bleachers attending her son's sporting events, ease enough stress to enjoy relaxing with some netflix and let her focus on rounds of March Madness instead of chemo.
