Help Casey Dawes Get Essential Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
My friend, Casey Dawes, could feel as if she didn’t have bad luck, she wouldn’t have
any luck at all. Although that may have crossed her mind, I am in awe of her ability to
navigate her year-long health crises and still retain some sense of humor as she has
faced one challenge and obstacle after another.
Casey has had seasonal allergies for some time. Symptoms flared up in April of last
year while she and husband were living their RV lifestyle. She went to a clinic in the
town in which they were staying and got a prescription. When that gave her no relief,
she sought help from two other clinics as they were traveling. Each time there was no
relief and increasing symptoms. Realizing something wasn’t right, she went to an ENT
specialist in Tucson. By then it was September. After much testing, she received the
dreaded news: cancer in her sinus. Her eye and vision were severely affected. Primary
Sinonasal Undifferentiated Carcinoma accounts for less than 1% of all cancers.
She has been though the cancer wars since then with chemo and all the side effects,
numerous MRIs, PET scans, blood draws, and has seen many specialists including an
oncologist, oncology radiologist, and consulting surgeon. All of them are some distance
away from their RV park in Tucson. Her husband has covered many miles chauffeuring
her to them. The last trip resulted in serious car trouble and appointments had to be
rescheduled while trying to cover that unexpected cost. How can the bad news keep
coming?
Her current treatment recommendation is for several weeks of radiation to be done in
Phoenix. However, that had to be preceded with clearance by a dentist. The dental visit
revealed the need for extensive dental work costing thousands of dollars before
radiation can begin. The radiation is essential to stop her cancer. On top of all the usual
expenses for gas, groceries, rent, and everyday essentials, this newest expense plus
the car repair cannot be paid with their depleted funds.
No one thinks this will happen to them until it does.
