Help Cassandra Get A Seziure Alert Dog

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

My name is Cassandra and I am a 26 year old wife, and mom who recently moved to the province of Newofundland, Canada back in June of 2021, unfortunately I did not expect what happened next. I took a seziure a week before we left our home of 6 years in London Ontario in the middle of the night. They put it off as stress induced due to the big move and sent me on my way. A week after we arrived to Newfoundland, I ended up having another seizure, in then a ambulance was called and I was rushed to Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital In Clarenville, where they went with the same diagnoses and said it was all stress. The seziures became more frequent and worse over the coming weeks, with many more ambulance trips and hospital visits they finally realized this was more then stress and finally started taking my condition more seriously. They determined I am having some form of seziures. Due to the crippling health care on top of a cyber attack that took out our health care system on the island, it has been difficult to get the care I need as I still am waiting to see a neurological specialist to give me a proper diagnosis along with further testing to determine which type of seziure condition I have, to make sure I am medicated for the right type. Due to my condition I have lost alot of my independence. My husband works as a long haul truck driver which forces him to be away from me mostly all week, and the responsibility of care when I have a seziure falls upon my 7 year old daughter along with neighbors and friend who have to come and check up on me daily. This been putting alot of stress and burden on both myself and my husband while he is away,  as my daughter also has to leave for school during the weekdays and I am then left alone with my 3 year old daughter and the fear of if I go into a seziure when no one is home always ways on our shoulders. This service dog will give me back some of my independence and also take that stress off of my 7 year old daughter to have to make those difficult decisions to call 911, along with the worry and stress my husband has to endure each time he leaves for work, and will allow me to go in public without worrying when the next seziure will come.

This service dog will be trained in both medical alert and medical response. It will be trained to detect a seziure before they happen so I have enough time to get to a safe location away from things that could harm me when I go into  Convulsions, along with providing deep  pressure therapy to help me come out of them quicker and to keep me on my side to reduce the chances of choaking. It will also be trained to go find help if I go into sezuire in public and or push my medical alert button if the seizures last longer, providing my loction and information to the nearest response team to get me the help I need along with other tasks that can make my day to day life and public outing safer for myself.

A service dog is a vital part of medical equipment that will help give me some of my independence back but still will be loved as family by us all. Due to the area I live In there is a long wait list for program dogs, that could take up to 5 plus years to get approved for. I have found a incredible breeder for Standard Poodles, and he is on his way , but the training cost still has to fall upon us to pay, which is pretty extensive. Due to our recent move, alongside our pile of ambulance bills, gas money to go to and from appointments and ER visits  that is 30 mins away, and my husband being the main sole provider due to me no longer unable to work, this expense is out of our range. So this is why we are seeking the publics help in helping with the training expense. We know we can financially take on the responsibility of its basic needs (Food, grooming and Vet).

All expenses will go towards training and to get the necessary gear it will need for work. If any is left we will use it to pay off the remainder of my ambulance bills and then donate the rest to a program or family who also are seeking a service animal.
