Help Castro Patrol Recover

Castro Patrol volunteers have been an essential part of safety in the Castro neighborhood since 2006. Our safety patrols are a key part of our work. We also educate the public through low-cost workshops about protecting themselves, family and friends, and the community. Topics include self-defense, surviving active shooter incidents, and understanding how hate crime laws provide protection. Our non-paid Patrollers continue also support large events like celebrations, memorials, and marches to City Hall.

These services are jeopardized by the 2024 collapse of SF-SAFE, our fiscal sponsor for 18 years. Their criminal investigation resulted in the loss of $82,000 in previously available funding. Generous contributions through GoFundMe and a few partner organizations have allowed us to continue our work. Castro Patrol is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
