Help Cat Dad Ha Pay for Dental Work!

Hi! My name is Christina and I'm fundraising for my dad, who needs dental work. My dad is 76 years old and came to the US from South Korea to start a business and raise a family. During his time here, he's never prioritized himself and only recently has he been willing to admit that it's difficult for him to chew. My dad never admits to any weakness, so just sharing this means he must be very uncomfortable.

 

Two years ago, I moved back in with my parents at the start of the pandemic, and since then, he's fostered over 75 kittens. He continues to help foster kittens even though I've moved out. As he's watched some of the sickest kittens leave as healthy young cats, he's realized that quality of life matters at any age.

 

My dad was recently able to return to South Korea for the first time since moving here 42 years ago. He had a fantastic trip but wasn't able to enjoy all the foods. I'd love for him to be able to continue to visit in the future and have a wonderful time each visit.

 

After meeting with several dentists and dental surgeons, he will need over $20,000 of work over several months to replace most of his teeth. If he were to do it in Korea, it would cost $20,000 plus his flight and stay and he would need to visit at least twice to complete it. The quotes he got in the US were between $30,000 and up to $50,000. As much as I want him to be able to visit Korea several times, one of the reasons we may do the work in the US is so that if any complications arise, his dentist and family will be here to support him.

 

Any money raised will go directly to costs related to his dental work. Anything raised above what's needed will go to my parents' Korea fund to allow them to visit again in the future and let them enjoy all the food they want.
