Help Cathy & her children through this hard time

Update 9/06
today at my ultrasound they found that the tumor (which is inside of her body only now) has doubled in size. They also found that she is anemic. They are going to keep me at the hospital from Friday to Monday to keep close observation.

update as of 9/05
i had fetal surgery on 8/22. They cut me open from hip to hip, took out my uterus, cut it open half way, put an IV in her arm, and did surgery on her. The tumor they took off of her was 3 times the size of her body.
this surgery has been extremely hard on my body. It’s still very hard for me to walk or take care of my other 2 kids.
we still appreciate every donation. It helps so much as we have no income coming into the house. Please keep praying.

update as of 8/17
The teratoma is now 15 cm. I have been admitted into the hospital since monday 8/14. I came in for some right flank pain, only to find out that the tumor is stealing the blood supply from the baby’s brain and other important organs. I am in discussion with the doctors about fetal surgery. This is a very risky but may be necessary surgery. I am officially off work until after baby is born. Anything would help. The hardest part on me is being away from my other 2 kids. The bills aren’t stopping.. and I will be in here possibly until I have baby. Thank you to everyone who has donated and most importantly prayed.

My name is Lyndsay Postelwaite. I am Cathy’s best friend. A little over a week ago she had a routine ultrasound. What they found was not good. At that appointment they found a large mass on the bass of babies spine and butt. They couldn’t give her too much information because they hadn’t seen anything like it before. She was referred to maternal fetal medicine. I went with her to maternal medicine today and it was more bad news than good. The baby has type 2 sarococcygeal teratoma which is a tumor that is going to continue to grow on the outside and inside of her body. As of right now the tumor is 10cm. It is larger than the babies head. She will have to have surgery the minute she is born. The surgeons will have to shave off her entire butt. This is extremely traumatic to Cathy not only because she is a single mother of 2 small children and works as a server, but this is also mentally draining. She will have to travel at least 60 miles one way every two weeks until approximately 36 then will have to move to the city she is delivering in for at least 2 months. It would mean the world to her if you could help her out.
