Help Cathy Naidoo after Hurricane Ian
Donation protected
My mom, Cathy Naidoo lives in a small Mobil home in Naples Land Yacht Harbor. This home was her parents’ and holds many sweet family memories. She has always referred to it as her little piece of paradise. She raised my brother and I by herself as a single mom. Anyone who knows my mom knows she has always put others first. She has always dreamt of living in NLYH and when she retired in 2014 that became a reality. Her home has survived many past hurricanes (Wilma, Irma) to name a couple, as well as some other unnamed storms. Hurricane Ian was like no other. It hit with a historic storm surge that left her home flooded. She has lost everything inside her home, including her personal belongings, furniture and appliances. Rob, my cousin James and I have taken time off from our jobs to rip up flooring, pull out the soaked insulation from under her house, and as much of the labor as we can possibly do ourselves. My mom will need new flooring to make her home livable again. Those who know her know that she’s a very humble woman and felt very uneasy in me setting this fundraiser in motion. However, this is her only residence and she wants to rebuild. She’s not looking for glamour, just some basics like flooring, walls, etc. to make her home safe and livable. Her house might be old, but it’s strong. Unfortunately because of its age, it was unable to be insured.
Please know if you are unable to give we certainly understand. Keeping her in prayer would truly be appreciated. Thank you for any assistance you can give.
