Help Caz heal and get home!

Hey, this is Franki and David, two people who care about Caz as much as you do!

As many of you know by now, Caz’s mother passed away recently. On her way to the funeral in Ireland, Caz fell and broke her knee in several places. She needed immediate surgery and is now “stuck” in Ireland where she has family (which is awesome) but can’t work (which sucks). She’ll be there healing for at least a couple of months before they will let her fly.

Life is expensive and even a few months off work will seriously hurt, potentially for years to come. She is currently in the hospital again with an infected incision, and just had another surgery to clean it out and repair the damage it caused. She's hopped-up on antibiotics and pain meds, and trying to get some rest.

The infection has reset the clock on healing and coming home, so it’s really not even clear how long she’ll be gone for. Her doctor can’t offer any guesses at this point, as they are just trying to make sure the infection doesn’t take her leg. Yeah, it’s that big of a deal. And on top of all that, she’s desperate to not be a burden to coworkers, her boyfriend, her cats, and friends.

While most medical care is covered under Ireland’s universal health care system, she still is responsible for a good chunk of it. And she’ll rack-up some medical expenses when she finally gets home. And she will be behind on rent and other bills after not working for several months. She resisted anyone making any kind of fundraising attempt like this, but the stress of it all and insistence of her friends wore her down. How about we all take some of that stress away? She’s the first to help when others are in need, so let’s help her now.

Caz is the beneficiary of this fund, so the funds go directly to her, and she’s the only one who has access. Franki and David are just managing the tedious bits. You can help by donating (the cost of a Guinness is fine, or a bottle of Midleton, or anything in between!) and getting the word out. You probably know others who know her or even strangers who might want to help, and you can help let them know about it by sharing this fundraiser.
